Through the depth of our expertise and quality of our products, we strive to improve the quality of life for your pets and you. Our commitment to animals goes well beyond that, and since its inception, Chuck & Don’s has been involved in a wide variety of community-based initiatives.
We partner with local animal rescue organizations to host between one and three cats at most of our stores. Chuck & Don’s also hosts many adoption days throughout the year. See the adoption opportunities at the store nearest you.
Through in-store events, we’re able to provide free instruction clinics, adoption events, play dates and feature rescue organizations. This benefits both charities and the general public. Interested in hosting an event at one of our stores? Check out the information on the application process.
Abby’s Pet Place
Abby’s Pet Places are dedicated community rooms within Chuck & Don’s that are designed to bring pets and people together. These rooms give organizations the space to host educational, social and wellness opportunities designed to enhance the human-animal bond. Currently, three stores have an Abby’s Pet Place: Aurora, Colo.; Edina, Minn. and Hudson, Wis. Use of the community rooms is FREE to qualifying groups. Learn more about Abby’s Pet Place and how to reserve the space or read Abby’s story.
We believe in the importance of participating and/or contributing to local events. Each year, Chuck & Don’s participates in a plethora of event such as the Dumb Friends League Wag ‘n Trail, Walker Internet Cat Video Festival, The City of Lakes Loppet and the Bellco Colfax 5k.
Contributions in funding and hands-on involvement go to a variety of pet-related causes, with special foci on spaying/neutering, assistance dogs and pet rescues. During the summer, we host our Raising Awareness fundraiser and in December we host our Paw Prints fundraiser where we collect customer donations of $1 per paw print. Our donations in funding and involvement at both the corporate and store level improves the lives of thousands of homeless animals a year.
University of Denver
Chuck & Don’s is honored to partner with the University of Denver’s Institute for Human-Animal Connection, a non-profit, independent research and educational organization that advances the status of animals in society, their role in therapeutic environments and has established the highest ethical guidelines for the study of human-animal relationships.
Ronald McDonald House
Eddie is the house-dog at the Ronald McDonald House of the Twin Cities. Eddie’s special role includes visits to the children and families staying at the House for treatment. Chuck & Don’s sponsors Eddie the Dog by donating her food, toys, treats and grooming.
We look forward to building new relationships and additional community partnerships in the months and years to come!
