Made with Love Dog Treats

Make wholesome, homemade treats for your dog.

Starting Feb. 8, 2019 at 4pm, pick up a DIY dog treat kit at any Chuck & Don's (while supplies last!). The kit includes a heart-shaped cookie cutter, recipe card and sample from The Honest Kitchen.

Made with Love Dog Treats

  • 1 1/2 cups spelt flour (see Notes)
  • 1/4 cup Honest Kitchen dehydrated food
  • 1 1/8 teaspoon aluminum-free baking powder
  • 1/4 cup natural peanut butter
  • 3/4 cup hot water
  • 1 egg

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, dehydrated Honest Kitchen food and baking powder until combined.
  3. Add in egg and peanut butter and mix into the dry ingredients.
  4. Add water slowly to the rest of the ingredients, stirring until dough forms.
  5. Roll dough out on a floured countertop to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters and place on cookie sheets. Pierce with fork to avoid air pockets in cookies.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly brown.
  7. Let cool on cooling racks for 2-3 hours. Place in airtight container or Ziploc bag in fridge or freezer until needed.
  8. Share your results on social media with #chucklovesthk

  1. Make sure xylitol is not an ingredient in your peanut butter, as it can be lethal if a pet eats it. Use a natural or organic peanut butter that only contains peanuts.
  2.  Wash cookie cutter before first use.
  3. We recommend spelt, but all-purpose flour or all-purpose gluten-free flour should work.
  4. If you have a peanut-free house, use almond butter instead of peanut butter.
