Create your own distinctive cards to share with friends and family to announce the addition of your new pet. It’s a simple project and is fun for the entire family.

Download a cat or dog template PDF (in sidebar at right). Depending on the size of the flat card blanks you purchased, you can enlarge the template to better fit the flat card blank by using a photocopier with an enlarging function.

Tools and Supplies
- Flat Cards & Envelopes (available at most craft stores)
- Scissors
- Pen or marker
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Pet-shaped Template
- Glue Stick (optional)
Once you’ve created the template at the size you want, place the template cutout on top of the flat card stock and, using a pencil, lightly trace around the edge. Cut around the pencil line on the flat card stock and erase any pencil marks if needed.

Hand-letter your new pet’s name and other information on the card stock shape. Another option: Using a computer and printer, input the pet information and print it out on an accent paper stock, cut to desired size and glue in place on the card stock shape using a glue stick.
