Chuck & Don's Pet Food Outlet Photo Album
September - October 2009
This is a photo of our pugs, Rex (age 11) and Petey (age 4). They are very lovable and so much fun to have around. Their all-time favorite snack is Natural Balance Lamb Rolls that we buy from Chuck and Dons!
Buck is my 7 yr old Vizsla who loves his tennis balls!  He tries so hard for four but can only manage 3 at a time.  He does this all the time on his own.  He will fetch and play for hours and wears me out!
This is SoCo!!

Here he is doing his best "King of the Jungle" impression while visiting the salt washes of Utah! He is an 11-yr-old blue standard poodle with his GCG and TDI certs. I adopted him from the Animal Humane Society when he was about a year old.

Less than a year old, Mastiff Darla - aka Kodiak - was chained to a tree in Wis. during the winter.  She had frost bite and her ribs were quite prominent.  Her fear of people, reaction to yelling, objects in your hand, barking dogs and the numerous scars on her legs, tells of the abuse she must have suffered - and still remembers.

Now at 20 months, still skittish but warm, happy and a very much loved room mate.

5 years ago this past July I adopted my Frida at 6 1/2 weeks old. She had been found without her mom at 4 1/2 weeks of age on the island of St Thomas in the V.I.  The rescue group Last Hope out of Farmington, MN had her flown up here for adoption just at the time when I was ready to adopt a puppy.  They think she is a Rat Terrier-Red Heeler mix and I love terriers and cattle dogs, so she was perfect for me. When she was a baby, Frida looked like a large baked potato with big ears (hence one of her nicknames became “little potato”).

Frida almost instantly brought back my ability to feel joy in life after I had been suffering a lot of grief for a couple of years due to several painful losses of family and friends. She is a living testament to the healing power of animals. I can’t imagine my life without her now.

Frida loves to plant sloppy puppy kisses – especially on human ears & mouths, but any old place will do if she can’t reach an ear or a mouth. She is a very serious little dog (27#) with some separation and severe thunderstorm anxiety but she also has her goofy fun loving side, too.  She loves to chase balls at the dog park. She is incredibly fast and can jump about 5-6 feet in the air with no trouble at all.  However, she really doesn’t want to return the ball to the thrower and love nothing more than to tease by dropping and wandering away from the ball, and then when the thrower (aka: me) gets almost over to pick it up, Frida zooms in like a land shark and scoops it up!  You can almost hear her laughing as she runs away with the ball in her mouth.

PS: Frida is a Chuck & Don’s dog!

Tennis anyone?????

Attached you will find our 16+ yr old female cat Bugsy. She is our princess. She is so cuddly and sweet. We got her at the Golden Valley Humane Society over 13 yrs ago. She never hisses, unless there is a stray cat on our deck and she never bites. She is one of the best cats ever.
