QUESTION:

Can dwarf hamsters have carrots? And if they can how much? and is it healthy for them?

ANSWER:

Hi Renee,

Thank you for contacting me regarding the diet for dwarf hamsters.

Dwarf hamsters should primarily eat a diet consisting of a variety of seeds that you can find packaged in pet stores. It is healthy to give a small piece of carrot, however, as a treat. It would be okay to give the dwarf hamster a small piece of carrot everyday on top of his dish of seeds.

Hope this helps!
