| QUESTION:
I have a one year old yorkie. Very sweet boy but will not let a scissors or clippers anywhere near him. Any suggestions on how I can get him groomed? |
| ANSWER:
Hi Hilary, Thanks for contacting me regarding your pet. If you are having a problem grooming your dog I would suggest a couple of things: 1. You could bring him to a groomer to have them try and groom him, sometimes a groomer is able to get the job done easier than you can and then you can work with him afterwards when he knows what is happening. Three of our stores have groomers, Forest Lake, Elk River and Mahtomedi. 2. You can also start slowly just a little trim on one foot and that's it for the day. Do a little more each day so he doesn't get overwhelmed. 3. You can try grooming him off the ground on a table. Sometimes pets behave better when they are up higher. Grooming can take time to get use to so go slowly and he will get used to being groomed. "The Chuck" |
