My cat is not a traveler. He meows the whole way when I take him to the vet and will even poop in his carrier. Is there anything that I can do? I would like to take him to the lake especially when we are up there for a few days. We have someone come in to feed him and give him fresh water and attention. I would really like to bring him with. The ride would be almost 3 hours. Or am I out of luck? Thanks, Linda

We have a couple of products you can try - both are made by NaturVet. One is Quiet Moments spray. You spray it in the carrier before you put your cat in and this will help reduce the stress your cat experiences when traveling. NaturVet also makes a product you can give your cat orally just like you would a hairball remover. Both of these products are natural and might help your cat feel more comfortable when traveling.

If neither of these products help I would suggest that you talk to with your veterinarian to see if he has something that will help him relax. The more your cat travels the more relaxed he will become when he goes with you.
