QUESTION:

I've had some problems with my cat, Marco. He's become really good at urinating right outside his litter box. As a good human, I replaced his litter box, went back to the old litter I was using, and started using liners in his box. I clean his box out 1-2 times daily, but the problem has been persisting. The box isn't in a high traffic area - although living in a studio may mean all places are high traffic - and I don't own any other cats. He still uses the litter box, but there is urine on the mat outside his box - so I got rid of that too. These are the common issues that I have found with urination outside the box when I do online searches and the answers I have received when talking to other cat owners.

What can I do next? I know that this is one of the top reasons that cats end up in shelters, and that's the last thing I want to do. There's been a little stress as I started a new job a few weeks ago but I feel like that stress should be over now. What's the next thing I should try??
