| QUESTION:
I have a male 4 yo cat (Uun-neutered male) that occasionally urinates outside the litter box. There is an older male (neutered) cat in the house and we have two litter boxes. Any ideas? |
| ANSWER:
Hi William, Thank you for contacting me regarding the issue you are having with your cat. You could try adding a third litter box as one box per cat plus an extra one is recommended. The problem might be your unneutered cat. When a cat in not altered they are more likely to mark their territory and go outside the litter box. Chuck & Don's carries a product called Feliway that you can use along with altering your cat. Feliway is a plug in that emits pheromones that helps behavior marking outside the litter box. I would recommend you call you veterinarian and see if he/she thinks altering will help along with the use of Feliway to stop your cat's marking. Good luck and thanks for the question.
