QUESTION:

I would like to know the pro's and con's of grain free food vs the alternative?

ANSWER:

Hi Lynette,

Unless your cat has a kidney disease there isn't really any con to feeding grain free food. The cost tends to be a bit higher so you could possibly call that a con as well. As for the pro's, there are many. Cats are true carnivores. They're system aren't designed to process grains very well. Most allergies in cats are caused by grains. By feeding grain free food, that can help eliminate any allergy problems. Most grains are just fillers and pass right through the cat. The more fillers there are in a food, the more waste the cat produces. Which means you get to clean the litter box more often!

Hope this helps!
