I adopted a 6yr. old cat four years ago. Just recently he wants to eat and eat. He follows me in the kitchen every time and jumps on the counter and meows, he has even tried jumping in it. We have always left dry food all day(prina one senior). One thing I started to do different is adding canned food once a day and I give him meat(chicken, deli meat) a couple of times a week(because he begs now). It still doesn't seem to be enough. Is this normal?

If this is new behavior and you haven't changed your cat's food or routine, I would say that is not normal. I see that you are feeding Purina One Senior formula. Senior formulas have less fat/protein/calories than the adult cat formulas. If you recently changed to a senior formula that could explain why he is now feeling hungry. There could also be some health concerns as well. I would encourage you to take him to a vet for a checkup.
